Head of Trading

Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and execution of the company’s strategic goals, particularly in relation to trading operations and market expansion
- Lead and manage the team, ensuring high levels of performance, engagement, and development
- Establish and implement dealing policies, procedures, and best practices
- Ensure the trading operations are compliant with internal risk policies and external regulatory requirements
- Monitor market conditions and adjust the company’s trading strategies as necessary to optimise profitability
- Manage the company’s risk exposure, market risk, credit risk, and liquidity risk implementing risk management frameworks and tools and setting and adjusting hedging strategies as required
- Ensure all dealing activities comply with relevant regulations and industry standards, including those set by financial authorities such as the FCA, CySEC, or ASIC
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of trading platforms and systems
- Collaborate closely with other departments, including Product, Compliance, Engineering, Back Office and Marketing, to ensure seamless operations and to support the company’s strategic goals
- Liaise with key stakeholders, including clients, liquidity providers, regulators to ensure the smooth operation of the trading des
- Stay updated on the latest technological developments in the trading sector and evaluate their potential effects on the company’s operations
Requirements
- Extensive experience in a senior dealing or trading role within the CFD brokerage industry
- 3+ years of effective team management experience
- Deep understanding of financial markets, particularly CFDs, forex, commodities, indices, and equities
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in multiple jurisdictions (e.g., Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East)
- Strong knowledge of risk management principles and practices in a trading environment
- Experience with trading platforms such as MetaTrader 4/5, cTrader, or proprietary platforms
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent or at least Upper-Intermediate level of English
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) is a plus
