Design System Designer
Europe | Full-time
Responsibilities
- Audit the current UI files, identify fragmented components, and consolidate them into the unified Global Design System
- Design, build, and maintain all core components, patterns, and templates in Figma, ensuring they are scalable and responsive
- Write clear, exhaustive documentation for the Design System, defining the “do’s and don’ts” for designers and engineers
- Act as a reviewer for design files created by Product and Marketing Designers before developer handoff, ensuring strict adherence to the Design System
- Onboard new designers and engineers to the system, conducting training sessions on how to use variables and components efficiently
Requirements
- 4+ years of Product Design experience, with at least 2+ years dedicated entirely to building and managing complex Design Systems for scalable Web and Mobile applications.
- Absolute mastery of Figma: deep expertise in variables, design tokens, component variants, interactive components, and advanced auto-layout.
- Strong technical understanding of front-end development (HTML/CSS, React, React Native, iOS/Android constraints). You don’t need to write production code, but you must speak the same language as engineers.
- Experience with multi-theming (light/dark mode) and white-label/multi-brand architectures.
- Experience setting up and maintaining synchronization tools between design and code (e.g., Storybook, Zeplin, Figma API, or Token Studio).
- Systems Thinking: You don’t just see a “button”; you see its states, padding rules, accessibility constraints, and how a change to it will cascade across 500 screens.
- Diplomacy & Guardrails: You know how to gently but firmly say “no” to custom components requested by other designers, keeping the system clean and standardized.
- Obsessive Attention to Detail: Pixel perfection is your baseline. You care deeply about alignment, typography scales, and accessibility (WCAG) contrast ratios.
- Documentation Champion: You believe that a component without clear usage guidelines is a useless component.
Will be a plus
- Experience specifically in FinTech, Trading, or Crypto platforms with high-density data visualization (charts, order books, complex tables)
- Ability to write basic code (CSS, JS, React) to contribute directly to the Storybook repository
- Experience leveraging AI tools to automate component generation or documentation writing
